While 2020 has presented a myriad of challenges for those looking to get out and about, Temple, Texas offers great avenues for outdoor recreation and entertainment year-round. Here are some great ideas for safe, socially-distanced activities you can partake in here in Temple this fall:

    • Fall Days at Robinson Family Farm. Traditions and memories are made on acres-upon-acres at this beloved Temple, Texas farm. Pick your perfect pumpkin from the patch, then wander through the corn maze or take a hayride through the fields. From there, you can feed the farm animals (or yourself!) and take in some live music. With more than 20 activities accessible with admission, there’s something for everyone at Robinson Family Farm. The farm is open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays now through November 1, 2020

    • Go Downtown at Sundown. Join the City of Temple Parks and Recreation Department for a movie night at Martin Luther King Festival Grounds on Saturday, October 17. Bring your picnic blankets and basket for this outdoor showing of The Goonies, with each party assigned to a “Social Square” to ensure proper social distance. Squares are limited to six people and pre-registration is required to attend this free event.

  • Do good and eat well at the Fall Food Truck Festival. In less than 20 minutes, you can drive from Temple to the Village of Salado, Central Texas’ artist haven. On Saturday, October 17 at 11 a.m., Salado will host a free outdoor food truck competition, complete with a wide variety of vendors, shopping, Halloween costume contest, live music, and family-friendly games. All attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite food truck or vendor, and 100% of proceeds from the event will benefit the Salado Volunteer Fire Department.
