Photographer & Owner | Studio on the Avenue
A training specialist for a government contractor, Wes trained military personnel for years on how to detect IED and bomb-detecting equipment. When he wasn’t absorbed with the job at hand, the Army veteran who traveled the globe leaned on his favorite piece equipment – his camera. Today, Wes lives in Temple, Texas, where he’s bringing small business success in to focus.
When opportunity knocks, Wes answers the door. Working for ManTech, he established new roots in Temple and at that same time, identified a missing, important piece to his new hometown.
“I was disappointed to find that internet searches of the city yielded few photos,” said Wes, who is certified through the Professional Photographers of America. “I decided to make a change and began exploring areas of the city, particularly downtown. Then people started taking notice of my work.”
Soon, Wes zoomed in on a new small business – Wes Albanese Photography, which is now Studio on the Avenue. His work includes traditional portraits, weddings and photo booth rental. Landscape photography is his real passion and the pursuit that led to his business in downtown Temple.
“I want people to be proud of where they live and where they work,” Wes said. “Temple citizens care about their city. We are growing and everyone can see how beautiful Temple really is and the great places it has to offer.”
Wes hopes that his photography helps to attract visitors, employers and talent while conveying Temple’s relevancy in 2020.
When he’s not behind the lens, Wes loves spending time with his wife Kari and stepdaughter McKenzie. Downtime includes places like the Robinson Family Farm for picking pumpkins and the welcoming waters of Belton Lake. He’s also been known to fulfill his need for speed at the Circuit of the Americas
